AllenMitchell CPA’s & Consulting, 412 B Avenue, Kalona, is challenging the community to donate 415 lbs (or more) of nonperishable food and other nonperishable items for the Kalona Food Pantry from Jan. 1, 2020 to 4/15, 2020 (the national Tax Day).

People are being encouraged to drop off their nonperishable donations at the AllenMitchell office, 412 B Avenue in Kalona.

“For every pound food dropped off at our Kalona office, we will donate $4.15 to the Kalona Food Pantry,” Mitchell Billups announced.

“When we decided to start our own business,” Billups related, “we committed ourselves to making sure to give back to the communities that support us. We found statistics like 1 in 9 Iowans are food insecure, 1 in 7 children do not have enough to eat and over 43% of those considered food insecure in Iowa do not qualify for food assistance.”

“This is such a basic need,” Billups pointed out. “We want to help fill the food gap, so we’ve decided to put our money to use, and create a challenge to the community in hopes to make an even larger impact with our money!”

“Helping you is our mission,” he noted, “and that applies to more than just our business and our clients. We believe that we have more to give than just tax and accounting services.
