This year the festival celebrated Kalona’s history. Prairie to prosperity through old world demonstrations of rug weaving, spinning, quilting, broom making corn grinding copper kettle apple butter. Entertainment, talent contest, and special features like the U of I Mobile Museum, K-9 Race Car “Racing for a cause on behalf of Iowa Concerns of Police Survivors. Even though it was a bit cold, there really was something for every member of the family!
Food: chicken and biscuits, grilled meats, apple butter, pie and ice cream,pretzels and apple fritters.
Activities: face painting, pony rides, kids corn bin, talent show, and kid activities
Attractions: handmade arts, antique sale, quilt museums, rock and gem museum, wine tasting, wood carver and antique tractors.
