The Kalona Optimist club encourages everyone to attend the club’s Tenderloin Dinner at the Kalona United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall from 4:30 p.m.  to 7 p.m.  on Thursday, February 28.

“In addition to our popular large breaded Pork Tenderloins,” noted president Ron Slechta, “we will be serving coleslaw, potato salad, ice cream, and cookies.”

“Because of the tremendous popularity of the tenderloin meal, we will be having an additional cooker and will be better prepared to serve more people,” Slechta added. “It is or goal to serve even more people this year without a long waiting line. We will be better prepared so that no one is turned away.”

Since Optimist International is celebrating its 100th Anniversary this year, the Kalona Optimist club would also like to invite you to bring one non-perishable food item for the Kalona Food Pantry. “We would like to have at least 100 non-perishable food items for our local pantry.”  Slechta pointed out.

Proceeds from the Tenderloin Dinner goes to help finance the Kalona Optimist club. The Optimist club is dedicated to helping the youth of our community. Projects include youth ball, youth golf lessons and tournament, Historical Village Easter Egg Hunt, kids Halloween Party, youth programs at the Kalona Library, support of Elements youth program, and other projects.

The Kalona Optimists thank the community for their support over the years and welcome you to attend this annual fundraiser for youth.
