7th & 8th Grade Teachers

Hillcrest Academy

Job Description: Hillcrest Academy is seeking teachers who have a passion for working with middle school aged children and will create a joyful learning environment where all students feel known, loved and respected as part of the classroom community. The ideal candidate would be able to teach more than one academic content area, as each subject area alone is part-time. The teacher will design lessons and activities in pursuance of our state standards and 21st century learning objectives, including critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, reflective learning and cross-disciplinary thinking. Critical components will include hands-on opportunities and learning tied to student interest. The teacher will be a strong communicator, a team player, a trusted and learned voice of education, and will appreciate the joys of working in a school serving a diverse student and family population. Our teacher will give students enough room to fail and learn from their missteps, and provide space for students to self advocate in the learning process. Relationships are key to the success of the Hillcrest Academy community. We want our teachers to demonstrate the power of smiles, meaningful conversations and honesty. Our teachers engage with and learn from others, including other members of the faculty. Hillcrest Academy is a Christ-centered school rooted in an Anabaptist perspective, committed to the core values of following Jesus, academic rigor, holistic learning, cultivating compassionate leadership, and providing each student the opportunity to thrive in a nurturing community.

How to Apply: Please submit a cover letter, resume, transcripts and three letters of recommendation to Principal Dwight Gingerich at dgingerich@hillcrestravens.org. In addition, please fill out the school application found here.
