Event Description: The Pleasantview Benefit is a 2-day event Oct 30 and 31 and is an annual fundraiser for Kalona’s continuing care retirement center. It will raise funds this year to support resident room renovations in the Legacy Crossing Long-Term Care community, including new flooring, lighting, paint, electrical improvements, and fresh linens. Any additional funds will be used for the general welfare of all Pleasantview residents. Beginning at 4:30 Friday, Oct 30, there will be a turkey tenderloin supper served until 7 pm and a silent auction which will end at 7 pm. A live auction will begin at 6 pm, pausing when the silent auction ends. Quilts, home-cooked meals, cheese, locally grown frozen meat, gift certificates, handcrafted items, and more will be auctioned until about 9:30 pm. Stop by the bake sale, and enjoy pie and ice cream throughout the evening. Saturday morning Oct 31 an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast will be served 7-9:30 am. The live auction will resume at 8:30, ending about noon when all items are sold. All are welcome to attend and experience the Kalona Country Charm at its best!
