We’re so excited to celebrate Wooden Wheel Vineyards’ 10 Year Anniversary at their upcoming Open House!
Wooden Wheel Vineyards is a vineyard and winery located in Keota, Iowa. It’s owned by Mike & Connie Vincent. Connie can typically be found out in the vineyard which has become her happy place. Whether she’s pruning or combing, she has developed a love for her work in the vineyard. Mike takes care of the winery and business aspect of Wooden Wheel Vineyards. He enjoys curating the perfect wine and finding new ways to grow and expand the business.
Mike & Connie purchased the farm from Mike’s father in 1978 but the property has been in his family’s name since 1854. While the farm crisis in the 80’s took Mike and Connie away from the farm, they always aspired to return with a viable agriculture enterprise. In 2010, they sold their insurance agency in Altoona and returned to their farm, planting their first vines and beginning the construction of the winery and event center.
Since then, their wine has spread across the state of Iowa and has been enjoyed by customers from around the country who have stopped at the winery. Their vineyard has grown to 7 acres and produces 4 different kinds of grapes for all 24 of their wines. Their event center, which was once a barn built in the 1860’s, has hosted hundreds of events such as weddings, anniversary parties, community events, Christmas parties, bridal showers, and so much more.
When asking Mike and Connie their best memories of owning Wooden Wheel Vineyards over the last 10 years, Connie says she has loved building another successful business as well as contributing to the community. Mike says that his greatest memory was winning two gold medals their first year of producing wine.

For Wooden Wheel Vineyards’ 10 year anniversary, Mike & Connie are celebrating with the community and customers who helped make it happen. Come on out to Wooden Wheel for their open house on July 17th, from 11:00am – 8:00pm. You’ll find their vineyard at 1179 Highway 92 in Keota, Iowa! Enjoy many activities such as self-guided winery and vineyard tours, wine tastings, live music, wine discounts, food and a complimentary glass of sparkling wine! Make sure to head to the winery between 2pm-6pm to bottle your own wine to take home with you.
